The “pay with cash” mentality has carried me through many a dry spell.
Another good (and healthy) way to save $$ is to stop paying for gym memberships! If you live in a nice climate like I do, there’s no reason why you can’t bike, or run, or walk outside! I love gyms, but I love saving money more.

Well, frugal also means DIY remodeling rather going the $$$ contractor and home equity loan route. That’s what we’re doing here to keep an ol’, ol’ house going. We’re saving on cable TV bills, period, because if you’re remodeling during hours after work, that means no time for TV, heh.

Yup, still stripping ol’ paint off 80+ year-old window, door, and baseboard (at floors) trim. Remodeled the fireplace, hearth, cabinet work and re-sanded, refinished wood floor in the living room so far– amazing what you can do in your spare hours if you can live without the boobtube. Plus, after all that physical exertion, we sleep soundly til the alarm clock goes off.

But, after all the paint strippin’ is done on the house, I ain’t nevah gonna touch another paint stripping job for the rest of my life.

So far we’ve got:

1) Recycle clothes/buy from thrift stores (Karen Mayes)
2) Petition Government to bailout White Ghost for insurance purposes
3) Use more efficient light bulbs (White Ghost)
4) Eat at Chili’s (McConnell) (Hey! It beats Taco Bell ANYTIME!)
5) Piggyback Internet from parents (JJ)
6) Digital converters (Candy)
