2008 Presidential Election: Obama’s Socialist Views Under Attack

Denver – Good evening, everybody! I hope your weekend has been going well. Barack Obama announced several months ago that he personally planned to bankrupt the entire coal-mining industry. In fact, Sarah Palin is so angry and upset about Obama’s “media-caused-missing report” that she took herself shopping and bought herself another $150,000 dress, matching purse and shoes, and an illegal immigrant from Russia – with love!

Anyway .. I dunno about Sarah Palin but she is one hot politician! Wow! I mean, there she is, wearing $150,000 clothes – and with ‘tude, too – and stating that Obama’s socialist policies would bankrupt an entire industry.

See, the differences between Palin and Obama are clear: Palin spends the government’s money to look good; Obama wants your money to make socialism make him look good.

Yah.

Do people really want socialist liberalism to take root in this country?

I wonder what McConnell at Deaf Republicans has to say.

I still think McCain can win because history shows that the favorites do not always win. Harry Truman is John McCain’s best hope for now, it seems.

I still dunno.

I’m going to browse online for a bit tonight and post more links/articles as I find them.

Laters, gators ..

It’ll be interesting. Polls on AOL shows McCain ahead, other polls shows Obama ahead. Anything goes! I didn’t say “interesting” because I liked it, I don’t like the whole election as it is. But, it’ll be interesting.

:)

I know… I have to admit that I am not too crazy about both candidates, but Obama scares me a little more than McCain… or is it because I am an old fart, being used to Reagan, Bush, etc… Of course, Bush politcs stopped appealing to me a long ago and I was ready for a change… in Hillary Clinton.

So… McCain or Obama? Obama does not have enough experience and I know he’d rely a lot on the cabinet members who have the clout on Congress. I really don’t care whether Obama knows sign language or not… It would be a no brainer for me to vote for McCain ONLY if he were a decade younger. He is over 70 years old and anything can happen…then we’d have a very interesting Palin as a Prez.

I will vote tomorrow AM, luckily at my apartment leasing office which is one of the polls in Indiana.

Karen Mayes

Now Paotie, that was the RNC’s money; not the taxpayers. Besides, it simply proves that’s she’s not some out-of-touch elitist with the wardrobe to match it. Just a normal American who’s willing to kill her own for the good of her constituents. I like that ;)

Some pollsters are citing the “Bradley factor” which may skew the election, who knows. Mayor Tom Bradley, who was Los Angeles mayor for many years and an African-American, ran for California governor a number of years ago and had an eight point advantage in the polls against his opponent. Turned out the race factor (now euphemistically called the Bradley factor) figured in at the last minute for many voters at election time, and Deukmejian became California governor instead.

We’ll see if the Bradley factor goes nationwide or not tomorrow.

Cindy McCain discusses about Palin in CNN ‘s Larry King Live’s TV show tonite…..

Cindy will have something to say about Palin…..whooo! oooohhhh! With all the expensive wardrobes……we’ll see…..

http://www.cnn.com/video/#/video/bestoftv/2008/11/02/lkl.sot.cindy.mccain.palin.cnn

Although it does not have the closed captions…..sorry.

I must admit that I’m little bit scary of Obama’s plan…he could be a very socialist on health plans…..no drill, baby, no drill…….

Karen….think about Prexy Reagan….he was elected when he was about over 70 years old…..age does not make any difference….but I am skeptical about McCain’s skin problems….he have had several skin surgeries.

White Ghost

Yup… my father told me he recalled several communication mishaps, Reagan’s forgetting the names, etc., during his last term… signs of Alzhemier’s disease.

Yup, WG… skin cancer. He has had hmmm a few cancerous cells removed and from what I understand, he could develop more cancerous cells, due to his age.

Palin… if McCain becomes invalid OR dies, she’d have to take over. Will she be able to live up to the expectations? She just appeared out of nowhere, roaring on the snowmobile, almost treating the candidacy like a beauty contest, hmmm… I don’t know. I admire her guts, yup, but….

Obama… if he gets the office, he’d have to tackle with Congress. I wonder if Congress is so weary that Congress would become a yes-yes organization, letting Obama have more power?

Ahhh… assumptions!

Karen Mayes

Karen,

It’s a lopsided but implicit argument to use the “no experience” muse against Palin when you need to look at Obama’s own experience. So, what about Palin’s beauty pagent some 24 years ago when she was 20 and was aiming to get some college scholarships in her hands. When Obama was 20 he was smoking pot and taking cocaine. Yet people defer over to Palin, point their fingers at her and frown over the idea that she once competed in a beauty contest. How is that different from Arnold Schwarzenneger who competed in bodybuilding contests in his early 20s?

As for Obama, for the first time in American politics you have a person with no military experience, no foreign policy experience, no executive experience, a junior Senator of 3 years but only worked the first 150 or so days prior to running for president, and have less political experience than the vice president of the opposing party who happens to be a woman and Governor of Alaska, an energy producing state that provides the U.S. with 20% of our domestic oil supply alone..a state that’s bigger than Texas.

Haven’t you even consider Biden’s own two aneurysms he had and had surgery done on them 20 years ago. It occurred on the right side of the brain and the lower left side of the brain near the base. Blood leaked in his brain but we don’t know whether it affected his way of thinking. His logic and reasonsings and all that? Or haven’t you noticed the umpteen times the gaffes he made this year? He couldn’t even get the foreign policy right or the history of it during the vice presidential debate. It’s enough to make you wonder just how stable Biden is when it comes to making reasonable and common sense decisions?

As for skin surgury, WG, they have doctors who look at his skin regularly and get it before it becomes cancerous. It’s a very diligent process. But then again, Obama was a life time smoker (he continues to smoke secretly even now as he has admitted) and we don’t have all of the medical record on him. What about his lungs or throat? Smoking is known to cause cancer in those areas. And if you get cancer in your lungs it is usually not a good prognosis to have compared to skin cancer because once cancer is in the very tissue itself with pathways to the circulatory system it can quickly get to the nodes throughout your body.

By the way, it’s not cancer on McCain, I believe, but melanoma which is a precursor to cancer. Melanoma can be benign or malignant. Malignant is bad. Malignant melanoma currently accounts for approximately 1% of all cancer deaths.

Expensive wardrobe?

$150,000 for Palin (that she had no control over)

versus

Obama’s trip to Hawaii recently?

Barack Obama’s trips to Hawaii on a chartered Boeing 757 each cost more than twice the price of Sarah Palin’s new clothes.

Brad Blakeman, who was in charge of scheduling for President Bush, says a Boeing 757 costs about $20,000 an hour for fuel, crew, and maintenance.

Since a trip to Hawaii entails 10 hours of flying time from Chicago, the total cost for each round-trip comes to about $400,000
http://www.newsmax.com/kessler/obama_hawaii_plane/2008/10/26/144260.html

Let’s not hear anymore about Palin’s expensive clothes when Obama spends 10 to 20 times that amount over a few days worth of his own activity. To act presidential I suppose one has to spend an inordinate amount of money to begin with?

Mike!

Don’t forget that Bill Clinton was the governor when he was 32 years old! No military nor foreign experiences!!!!! Very rookie when he became President…

With all the beauty pageants and drugs, life is such interesting……

George Bush and Obama were the similar boats. As for Palin…..really interesting….her unwed daughter and Grandma-to-be.

Biden…he plagiarized with his school work at college when he was young student, and then, he got booted off during the president campaign in 1980′s. What’s wrong with his aneursyms? Still he is!

Time has changed in a big time….life is such interesting…..

White Ghost

McConnell ..

That’s a very good point about Palin. I left a comment at your Deaf Republicans blog and stated that McCain is the lesser of two evils for me (with apologies – I know you’re a huge GOP fan).

Socialism. I thought we lived in America, the land of opportunity. But with Obama’s socialist liberalism, it seems like we’re gonna become the land of redistributed debt.

I’m not cool with that. I did like your article at the Deaf Republicans. Really interesting and poignant.

:)

Paotie

There have been several presidents who dealt with disease or were ill during office. Woodrow Wilson, FDR, JFK, to name a few. Most were able to fulfill their presidential duties regardless. Yup, the Veep is the backup in case a prez dies, becomes too ill, or resigns in office. That has happened several times in our country’s history, and the country’s survived so far.

If Obama gets elected, it will a first for the presidential office that race was overcome to elect an African-American to this post. The country can then put its rascist history dating back to the Civil War to rest, making it possible for a black person to achieve the highest political post in the land.

If McCain gets elected, that means Palin as Veep, another first to overcome gender to elect a woman to the Veep post, a stepping stone to the presidency. She will also be head of the Senate and can break a tie vote with her vote. She will indeed break the glass ceiling so notorious in this country for women trying to succeed in their careers.

Interesting election because history will be made one way or other…

Ann_C

Stacy ..

You said: “Just a normal American who’s willing to kill her own for the good of her constituents. I like that”

LOL

That comment alone might compel me to vote for McCain tomorrow.

;)

Paotie

Paotie

Karen Mayes ..

Wow! I am sooooo happy to see you here again! Awesome!

Like you, I worry about the age bit. I’d really hate for McCain to win the Prez and then expire the day after he’s sworn into office. But then again, Obama is a relative political newbie that has most of America (and the New Media – mostly left-wingers) eating out of his hands.

That’s not exactly a bad thing. JFK was very charismatic and if it weren’t for Nixon’s refusal to wear make-up (of all things!), we might have had a very different history in this country.

I guess my point is there’s really no easy answer. When I go vote tomorrow, I’ll decide when I pull the lever but for now, I’m like you – unsure.

I’m leaning towards McCain.

Great to see you here!

:)

George Bush decided to get out of his sight after the election night is over…..wonder why?

Seclusion?????

Could not speak for Republicans?

Something wrong with his picture?

Gotta ready to watch SNL tonite…..special episode!

White Ghost

White Ghost ..

SNL is on tonight??!

Maybe I should blog on that?

:)

Paotie

Paotie

Ann ..

I agree: this is the most unusual and interesting election in history. Either way, a minority will be a very VIP in American politics: either an African American or a female.

And here I’d always thought HRC would become the first female President. Maybe it ain’t too late?

HRC vs Palin in 2012? OOoOOoOOh!

Now THAT would be awesome!

;)

Paotie

Paotie

Paotie

After you watch SNL tonite, you can blog…I love to see your phunny blog!

I am so happy to see our Paotie’s blog friends to get back here, right here!

One more to go….My Pirate blogger, Ben Vess, ‘scuse me, he looks like Jack Sparrow from “the Pirates of the Caribbean” movie! Get over right here, man! Go over Barb Digi’s vlog and you will see him there!

White Ghost

White Ghost ..

I haven’t seen the Tea Time Party video but have heard about it from lots of people. It looks like a really fun event. Ben is a stud!

I might blog on SNL later this afternoon if I’m still around – just to let everyone else know SNL is on tonight.

Cool?

;)

Paotie

Paotie

SNL on Monday football nite?! How can I miss that?! Oh, right, the eve before the national election, there’s no football? Well, the presidential politics will certainly be a football in this ‘un. *wink*

The pinky party’s back. :)

Ann_C

Paotie,

OOooooOOOoooh!!!! HRC versus Palin in 2012? That’ll be one helluva cat fight. Yee-haw!

Ann_C

Ann ..

YUP! HRC vs Palin in 2012!

They’ll put Margaret Thatcher to shame!

Not.

;)

Paotie

Paotie

WG,

“Don’t forget that Bill Clinton was the governor when he was 32 years old! No military nor foreign experiences!!!!! Very rookie when he became President…”

Palin is governor of Alaska.

There is no excuse to say that Palin doesn’t have the needed experience or wherewithals to be vice president (or president for that matter) since she does have more political experience than Obama to begin with. It was an irony that I noted earlier when people complain that Palin doesn’t have enough to be veep or even president.

Hmmmm… now that you got me thinking…

Palin vs. Hillary….

Vice-presidency could be a great equipping tool for Palin, to become more savvy in politics…

Hmmm… McCain sounds more good to me now…

Ha….

:o ) I have never really left… just took a hiatus.

Karen Mayes

Mike, your points are noted. Hmmm….

Karen Mayes

Mike,

That is my point…….ahhhh with all the twists over the years, from plagiarism to unwed daughter’s birth, there are more acceptable in the modern days…..

I gotta watch the SNL’s special presidential episode at 9 PM in eastern time…..

Gotta love to see all the Pinky fans right here…..;-)

White Ghost

Well, Obama’s grandmother died. Wondering how it would affect the voters… likely show Obama’s human side to us and would appeal to us more.

I am not being mean… just being factual. I know that the politics could take advantage of some small things to lure more votes to either side.

Karen Mayes

Karen ..

A friend of mine just emailed me and said that the people voting for Obama cos of his grandmother’s death were gonna vote for him, anyway.

I understand your point about people bilking and milking it for all it’s worth and think you have a very valid concern to raise.

But McCain was a POW. I’m not sure (someone correct me if I’m wrong) but McCain was injured BEFORE he flew a sortie or something over North Vietnam – the most dangerous areas during the war – and then was shot down. Rather than confess to his captors, McCain kept his honor and duty, and paid the price for it.

So, I dunno. I admire McCain very much. And Obama inspires lots.

What to do??!

;)

Paotie

Paotie

What timing, for Obama’s grandmother to die.

I’m still undecided.

But, I guess I’m going to vote…and might not even vote for either.

Because, then, I know I will sleep better.

:)

I know, Candy…..

First of all my highest priority are: Security and conversation of energy…..

I dunno what to do……

White Ghost

Candy ..

You said: “But, I guess I’m going to vote…and might not even vote for either.

Because, then, I know I will sleep better.”

LOL

I’m just sick and tired of hearing/seeing about “Obama” or “McCain” or “Palin”

Who was Obama’s running mate?

I jest.

;)

Paotie

White Ghost ..

What kind of security are you concerned about? And do you mean you want sound energy policies (less oil dependence, more focus on “green” processes, fuels, etc.)?

You’re not the only one confused.

:)

Paotie

I trust the republicans to take a good care of the security since the 9/11 attack so the foreign policy have upgraded into the stricter program. Democrats are not……

With the economy on the conversation of energy that kills my weigh decision.

White Ghost

No, you’re not really jesting, Paotie.

Biden doesn’t get much media coverage as his prez partner, wonder why? He doesn’t have the “local color” (Delaware, where’s that? I’ve heard people say) or doesn’t cut a strong image. He’s known as a long-standing pol, well acquainted with Washington, D.C. circles. I suspect that Obama may have selected him as Veep choice for his liberal connections in Congress and beyond in the nation’s capitol more than anything else. But not as his successor…youth at what? 36 years, laughs at his age and will milk Biden’s connections for what it’s worth. That’s my take on Obama’s choice.
