2008 Vice Presidential Debate: Drill, Baby, Drill!
Posted by Paotie on 10/03/2008
Denver – Good morning, everybody! I hope you have had your morning caffiene! I did! WOW! I am super hyper! HOLY MOLY! GOLLY GOOD-LUMS! And! Plus! I watched the 2008 Vice Presidential Debate between Sarah Palin and somebody else last night! I was impressed! I was floored! And I looooooved when Sarah Palin said, “Drill, baby, drill!”
HaHa!
I’m just messin’ with all ya’ll.
Anyway .. I did not watch the debate last night – I had other things to do. But I did catch glimpses of the debate on CNN and CNN.com last night and this morning. And from what I can tell, neither Biden or Palin won or lost.
I dunno.
DRILL BABY DRILL!
I love an oiled-up woman in charge!
Pondering pineapples, I am.

Nope,it is Duck ,Baby,Duck!
You are better off not seeing this debate, how does it qualify as one if Gov.P rotes out one liners, winks & mumble jumbo to the T. It would have been side splitting funny,if not for the fact that it is A VP debate..I could see the incredulousness in Biden’s eyes when he listened to some of her extreme BS.Biden, did such a perfect job of not sounding patronising(god,it must have been so hard when your opponent is an airhead…)
A quick prayer,
God bless us and keep us safe from all that comes from Alaska!
Biden’s Debate Response
What worries me are folks that confuse charm “you betchas” and a view across the way
to Russia as a global view, foreign affairs, the qualifications for helping to run these United States.
There is no doubt that Palin governs Alaska let’s give her credit for that.
But how well does she connect outside her world”?
The sly governor conned a lot of people into thinking she’s a bumbling airhead, incapable of answering the simplest of questions, in an attempt to throw off her opponent, to “clean somebody’s clock ?” She did not.
Biden was ready for her, overrode her guile. He answered questions with precision intelligence and sensitivity.
But she can answer questions and how! She’s certainly no Hillary Clinton.
Her style was vague to a great degree, displaying some knowledge at times, in no particular order and often not connected to the question asked.
Palen’s agenda: “If in doubt, be evasive, aggressive, condescending, throw in some facts, any facts, cover your ignorance.”
When it comes to debates, it’s “Palin’s way or the highway.”…cunning?.. ruthless?.
Is her debating style a look inside her governing style?
If you like this style, then for you, she won.
What worries me, friends, are folks that confuse “you betchas” as a qualification for VP.
Sarah Palin sounded like a Parrot repeating memorized attacks and talking points.
Joe Biden destroyed every argument Sarah Palin attempted to make. She refused to answer several questions and danced around those she did. Her performance amounted to acting out a pre-determined style and attack agenda. If there was no one else in the room (no opponent or moderator), Sarah Palin’s comments would all still play just fine.
If you look at the transcript, Palin sounds like an old, tired, broken record. If you polled a group of Americans who could only read transcript of the Debate, you would almost certainly see an overwhelming majority of support for Biden and probably upwards of 90% of responses of disbelief and laughter toward Palin’s comments.
Joe Biden succeeded on three fronts:
1) He did not overwhelm, attack or talk down to Sarah Palin
2) He kept his comments on the issues and targeted John McCain
3) He was respectful to his opponent and managed to help his running mate, neither of which Sarah Palin did
When Joe Biden got emotional about raising his kids, Sarah Palin dove straight into her pre-programmed propaganda. This was a straight shut-out with Joe Biden delivering a crushing defeat to the McCain Ticket, 3 to Zip!
ann ..
You said: “I could see the incredulousness in Biden’s eyes when he listened to some of her extreme BS.Biden, did such a perfect job of not sounding patronising”
Is that why Biden had a hard time looking at Palin? I didn’t see the debate but some of the commonalities between blogs/news sites discussing the debate is the fact that like McCain, Biden seemed unwilling too look his opponent in the eye.
What’s with the old, white dudes being unwilling to look at attractive women?
Paotie
Barbara Holloway ..
You betcha!
HaHa!
Anyway, so you’re saying Palin is more Reaganesque than Dubya?
Paotie
Steve Ford ..
Wow!
After reading your comment, I had a fantasy of Hillary Clinton and Sarah Palin rollin’ in a pit of green jello pop into my skull!
Fantabulous!
Paotie
Palin is one of the major reasons why both sides of our life-long Republican families will be voting for Obama. Palin’s clear lack of Political knowledge is wreckless and shows everytime she’s on camera, not to mention when combined with McCain’s war-mongering views you have a recipe for global disaster. Even being staunch ‘Republicans’ our family could tell it looked like she was simply repeating points that the campaign managers outlined for her, she even directly asked to change the subject so she could weasel those points in. It sealed the deal when she said that she may not give the answers that the moderator is looking for, that right there proved how severely unqualified she is to be a Vice President. Many other Republican families are jumping ship as well this year. Our sons aren’t going to die in one of McCain’s senseless wars.
Readers!?
A transcript of last night’s debate is available here. Might be useful for those of you with non-functioning ears because you never know how those captions work (or not).
Paotie
@paotie..
believe me,he was trying his best not to laugh his guts( he was scared he might burst into uncontrollable fits of laughter) in response to her worthless blabbering!! i sure did,so did my friends and family…and oh whats up with nucular..in her desperate attempt to get ahmedinjad right, she forgot how to pronouce nuclear..tsk tsk..is this what they teach you in alaska?and she comes from a family of school teachers…
and being attractive, that is really a relative term… she is stuck in a 60s/70s time warp..ease up onthat bird’s nest and the lip definer…we may all have given hilary grief about her pantsuits, but at least she was in with all the newest colors…
plus his wife jill,is pretty hot herself! he doesnt have a roving eye like McSame(everyone knows right that he dumped his wife when she was ill after an accident & dallied around with the current wifey, right???!
all that aside, you know what her biggest contribution is?she made GWB look & sound like Aristotle! now thats gotta be something…You betcha, lady, caught ya!!!!!!!!!!!(Im opening up my bottle of champagne in anticipation of O-B victory in Nov)
ann ..
Yup! On paper, Palin sure looked like she was blathering along. Coherence is not her strong point, evidently.
Wow! That just demonstrates one thing: McCain is wise.
Paotie
yes, he is living proof of the saying that a head full of white hairs need not have reached intellectual nirvana!!!
Perhaps, Palin looked very flirtatious. She smiled too much during the debate. Very persuasive-looking.
Well, as for Biden not looking at his opponent, Ms. Palin probably was a major distraction, ahem. She certainly was a distraction in Alaska, what with a population of a ratio 9 men to 1 woman, I think. Not a wonder she got voted governor. Her incoherent mouth is another matter…
Don’t know if ya took Debate 101, but one reason a debater doesn’t look at his opponent is to not get spooked psychologically. Imagination can run wild as to what an opponent’s advantages are, and Biden probably put on the mental blinkers deliberately to screen out Palin’s obvious advantages.
One should also remember that savvy politicians choose running mates that make up for what they lack in order to attract the votes. Obama obviously picked Biden because of his long-time political experience, which Obama lacks. But white Caucasian Biden was also picked as a counterpoint to Obama’s ethnic makeup in order to attract the white vote maybe? McCain picked an attractive and young, but inexperienced, woman politician as a counterpoint to his long-time political experience and age. McCain probably hopes to attract more women voters, a long ignored group, to vote for him.
But all in all, voters should remember they’re going to the polls to elect the next person to run this country for the next four years, and it’s the President that represents this country, not the Veep.
Ahhh…i beg to differ, Paotie. Biden was looking lots at Palin. I watched the whole debate cuz Cubs was losing and I couldn’t stand it! Palin, obviously was well prepared and mocked at Biden for going backwards. duh history tends to repeat. Biden is solid.
I don’t like McCain. He will die in office (sorry but the chances are high) Palin as our prez? no way.
Poatie, what do you think about Palin passing around her baby on stage after the debate? Shouldn’t the baby be in bed? I was afraid the little 6-year-old was going to drop the baby when she was walking down the steps there at the end. Yikes!
deb
Just to be fair, Biden had his show of B.S. in foreign policy matters.
1. Biden confused the West Bank and Gaza strip, he blatantly lied about Barack Obama who said he did not support the Palestinian elections that put Hamas in control of Gaza. He did.
Here’s what Biden said about West Bank and Gaza during the debate:
“Here’s what the president said when we said no. He insisted on elections on the West Bank, when I said, and others said, and Barack Obama said, ‘Big mistake. Hamas will win. You’ll legitimize them.’ What happened? Hamas won.”
3. Biden got the Lebanon thing wrong, too.
4. France and the United States NEVER kicked the Hezbollah out of Lebanon and this was Biden’s most serious of all gaffes here. And he’s the member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee??
He may have shown an air of confidence in these matters but unless you know a little bit of the history on foreign policy matters you’d catch Biden’s gaffes pretty quick. One or two *might* be forgivable with his 35 years career in politics but having a series of mistake concerning foreign policy on a national stage in a debate forum?
But the problem is this, you’re willing to overlook Obama’s lack of experience but not Governor Palin? The irony is this. For the first time in American politics you have a presidential candidate who have no military experience, no foreign policy experience, no executive experience, a junior Senator for 3 years of which he only worked 146 days as a Senator prior to running for President, and have less political experience than the vice president candidate of the opposing party who happens to be a woman and Governor of Alaska. Talk about irony of mass misproportion.
Yet, you give Obama a pass but not Governor Palin and scream the mantra “One heart beat away”? Take a look at Obama. Heck, if anything, it’s Biden who should be running for president and Obama as his veep. Not the other way around.
Deb ..
You said: “Poatie, what do you think about Palin passing around her baby on stage after the debate? Shouldn’t the baby be in bed?”
Well, if it ain’t my kid, I ain’t worried about it.
Paotie
Candy ..
Well .. I read the transcripts and if you look at the differences between Palin and Biden, at least on paper it looks like Biden is smart and Palin is not.
And Palin is sexy and Biden is not. In this day and age of Paris Hilton, I s’pose that it is a sign of the times that people identify beauty with leadership.
Ick.
Paotie
Oh, the baby thing? That’s a concern? Suppose the baby is in bed what will the public say about that? Palin’s not a good Mom because she’s not minding the baby making sure he’s ok? C’mon. It’s a non-issue here. She knows what she’s doing. After all, this is her 5th child.
McConnell ..
Your last point about Biden running and Obama his VP – I agree. Really, it should’ve been that way.
This is the year of the Election of the Charismatics.
Paotie
McConnell,
You said, “Biden confused the west bank and Gaza Strip, he blatantly lied about Barack Obama who said he did not support Palestinian elections that puts Hamas in control of Gaza. He did.”
Don’t forget that Biden survived the Brain Aneurysm in 1988.
White Ghost ..
LOL
Paotie
Interesting points, McConnell.
One wonders if elected, would McCain, who is 72, survive a fourth bout of second-phase melanoma, a deadly form of skin cancer, with a 60% return rate in office? Perhaps that’s why he picked a young, hale and hearty woman for his Veep choice? Who knows.
The presidential office has had sicker men lead than McCain. For example, aside from his polio, FDR was a very sick man when he assumed office. His veep Truman was the picture of health.
It troubles me that Obama, who is a junior senator with very little political experience, rides on Biden’s coattails.
Paotie, just as you say ’tis a sign of the times that people identify beauty with leadership, ’tis also a sign of the times that politicians make promises but never follow up. *sigh*
Ann ..
Right! That’s why being an independent this election year has been fraught with lots of head-shaking.
Too much one-up-manship goin’ on.
Way too much.
Paotie
Biden is 65 and has had 2 aneurisyms and he is genetically pre-disposed or increased risk of having aneurisym anytime. But what you’ve presented is a non-sequitur, Ann. You have a presidential candidate who is having a first shot at presidency…not Palin. That’s the irony here and people are simply not seeing it. It could be years til Palin take McCain place. It may end up being 8 years. Or 4 years. Or 2 years. Or one month later. But why should that matter be a concern for people when you have Obama who have less experieces overall than Palin to take the shot at the White House first?
So, then there’s another non-sequitur and this is about handsomeness or beauty. Obama has a certain charisma and handsomeness to him. So does Palin when it comes to her beauty. Why are you objecting to her looks? People are picking a young, hale and hearty man for president.
I’m seeing serious double standards here of mass misproportions.
Well, McConnell…..
Bidan has called one of his famous ally, a Borg to “fix” and reprogrammed his head.
It worked.
McConnell ..
Right. And Obama has so little experience compared to anybody else.
So, if McCain died the day after being sworn in as President, and Palin became Prez .. I think another governmental bail-out might be required.
That’s why the election should be McCain vs Biden and Palin vs Obama in the VP race.
Paotie
McConnell ..
Palin is a hot, white chick.
Obama is not.
BIG difference.
Paotie
What about John F. Kennedy? He became Sexy Prexy when he was about 45 years old.
Bush’s Dynasty will be all gone shortly.
Kennedy’s Dynasty is still here for almost 100 years.
Realize that, huh?
The U.S. has survived when presidents died or got shot and the vice president took over. Look, the vice president position of the past was considered nothing but a shadow person who basically have no power to do anything. It’s a little bit different today and vice presidents do have a lot of influence and power (a veep is president of the Senate and can vote). Look at Teddy Roosevelt. He was McKinley’s veep. They won. And Teddy told himself that he just ruined his political career. But 6 months later, McKinley was shot. And Teddy took the reign and became a very popular president and reformer.
Now, tell me, who is this person?
I under 45 years old.
I love the outdoors.
I hunt.
I am a Republican reformer.
I have taken on the Republican Party establishment.
I have many children.
I have a spot on the national ticket as Vice President with less then two years as a Governor.
Sarah Palin?
No, Teddy Roosevelt.
Paotie…you’re a man. Of course, you’ll say she’s hot. Or haven’t you seen the Obama’s babes video fawning all over Obama?
What does the Kennedy dynasty has to do with this election, WG?
The point is that many Kennedy clans/dynasty were elected as much younger than Palin’s…….
McConnell ..
Great stuffs about Teddy Roosevelt. I did not know those things.
Okay, so Obama is unquestionably the newbie and Palin is still hot!
Ahh. The Obama Chicks. Let me check ‘em out!
BRB
Paotie
McConnell ..
Mmmm .. ‘kay. About the Obama Babes, here’s a video for you:
(Trying to see if this will work more than anything)
LOL, Paotie…another governmental bail-out.
Mike, I was just musing on what WG brought up, Biden’s brain aneurysm, then got to thinking about what had been brought up about McCain’s age and health concerns, especially the bouts of melanoma he has had.
I agree with Paotie’s observation that the election candidates really should be Biden vs. McCain for prez and Obama vs. Palin for veep. It is unfortunately skewed, which is why this will be an interesting election year, double standards notwithstanding.
Ahhhh…..
Remember when George W. Bush announced that he selected Dick Cheney to be his VP.
Everybody were amused about his health problems since he was about 37 years old in the 70’s. Cheney faced some health problems during his 8 tenure years in the Bush Administration.
See?
WG. Palin is 44. JFK was 43 years and 236 days old when he became President of the U.S. But he wasn’t the youngest ever, it was Teddy Roosevelt who became President at age 42 years and 322 days. Bill Clinton became president at 46 years old and 154 days. Bobby Jindal became youngest Governor ever and he’s is currently the Governor of Louisanna at age 36 years old.
I’m not sure what you’re driving at, WG.
70 million viewers watched the debate.
I expected that when I blogged about it last week.
@mcconnell
we all wish the tickets could be reversed.but the fact of the matter it isnt (there is something called voting and people voted for these folks)and never gonna be,so lets suck it up like good citizens and trudge on..is anyone really surprised that this is an election of personalities? Elections always always have been about personalities worldwide, lesser so about issues(unless we are in depression, which hasnt happened till the 30ss..)
Is it too much to ask for a president who at least sounds intelligble? Thats the least we can hope for given the past 8 years of sheer torture on all the senses.
Those who think S.P makes an excellent VP,surely deserve her..good luck to ya!!!Our national capital will be Wasilla and national sport moose hunting(please do not humiliate Roosevelt.,he went to Harvard & Columbia(and dropped out)..he was an avid writer with 35 books to his name ..Sarah Palin finshed her education by jumping around 6 univs and her greatest achievements winning ALaska beauty queen(which she ran twice) …so plzzzzzzzz spare the comparisons)
Palin is hot, no question about it. I was happy to see a woman running for VP, I would prefer a woman running for prez. I don’t know why a lot of women are affected big time and are flocking towards Obama. But word is a lot of woman are pissed and I’m trying to understand that. This is politics, here ok. It’s time for men (and a few women who like women) to stop looking at a female running for any office as some piece of meat. Com’on, no wonder this country is in a world of shit.
Originally I wasn’t going to vote. But, now I will. It is not going to be for whom I want cuz I don’t like either party ticket. I’m voting on behalf of my daughter who wants me to vote for Obama.
My family, friends and even my co-workers are all telling me that the reason why they’re comparing Palin with Obama is simply because the running prez (McCain) is OLD and the chances of him croaking is very real, thus, they are looking at: do we want Prez Palin or do we want Prez Obama? With Obama, we have a seasoned politician who is experienced in just about everything: Biden. McCain tends to back off, drop off, run away, etc every time a HOT POTATO falls on his lap.
NO prez has ever made a decision on his own. Always there’s advisors, cabinet members, etc. Obama will gain a lot with experts he will have on his cabinet including his advisors and with Biden to top it off.
Many have told me, you can’t vote for McCain and Palin! Palin will become a prez. That is the fear many have and that is why many Republican have switched over to Obama. That is one of many other reasons.
I thought Biden was more cordial and respectful whereas Palin was actually trying to “knife” Biden with her swordy mouth. Biden was a gentleman, no question about it. You could tell, he had the hots for her too.
I had a hard time deciding who won. Apparently most media are saying Biden won.
You know it’s sad, when every time we have a female running for prez or VP or higher position, her sexuality is brought up. That’s all men will ever see woman as, some hot “MILF.” Incidentially, there was an article about how someone would type in something like “vote for the MILF.com” or something like that and it will be redirected to John McCain’s official website.
Well, politics and sex always go in hand together, it’s no wonder our country is screwed.
I just wished there was a better party ticket, is all.
I’ll let WG speak for herself, but Cheney has survived Bush’s two administrations of nearly 8 years so far, despite what the pundits have predicted about his health issues and age. Cheney had health issues for a long time since middle age, but they didn’t stop Halliburton from hiring him as CEO and Dubya from selecting him as his veep. Just the reverse situation, a young healthy Prez and an older, not-so-healthy veep.
Dubya was definitely thinking he was fit for the office, that’s for sure.
I think we should try to remember that with age,( yes, sometimes there are health concerns when one gets older as any senior will attest to), comes a tremendous amount of experience in dealing with people and with policies, the balanced wisdom of when to listen to others and when to listen to one’s own counsel, and a certain tenacity and commitment that youth hasn’t learned yet. I don’t think Obama has arrived at the point where he knows where he’s at, because he doesn’t come across as very convincing or knowledgeable.
He’s very good with words, and that’s all they are, words, and he knows how to say them. This is what disturbs me, beautiful rhetoric with no substance (i.e., the experience behind those words, or namely, the character that forms the person because of his experiences). We don’t know enough about Sarah Palin, as she has just burst onto the public scene just recently, so I’m being cautious here. I am trying to fathom those who want to elect Obama, is it just his words that convince them? How so, when there is very little experience to back up what he promises? Is it just because these voters will vote for anything that doesn’t smack of Bushnomics or war? Sheesh, it seems as though many people vote on the premise of their gut feelings, and not with their heads. Ouch.
Also, we know most House and Senate members are not privy to everything, thus, they make decisions on what is on paper in front of them. The White House have been known to withhold certain pertinent information from Congress. What they voted for or didn’t vote for, I’d not take too much stock in because if it was not a bipartisan effort, then that is just what it is, the information was not accurate there and then. Everyone has a card to play all the time in Congress, it’s all a game. Quid Pro Quo until something happens, “Oh Shit,” we gotta get our asses up there and ’spain it to the American Public…pacify them (our votes are at stake.) Same ole….
Ann,
Palin won the Wasilla beauty pageant which qualified her to compete in Miss Alaska where she placed 3rdd. And that was over 24 years ago.
There are similarities between Palin and Roosevelt in what I’ve just described earlier. Nothing was said in comparing his schooling and proclivities to write a bunch of books or even read them at what he says “at least 1 book a day.”
He was a reformer, so is Gov. Palin, obviously. They both loved to hunt. Both loved the outdoors. Both took upon against their own party establishment. That is all I said, Ann. Please do not put words into my mouth.
“My family, friends and even my co-workers are all telling me that the reason why they’re comparing Palin with Obama is simply because the running prez (McCain) is OLD and the chances of him croaking is very real.”
Um, pardon me but that is the most lamest excuse I’ve ever heard. Not to be mean here but that just doesn’t fly nor make any sense because it all goes back to Obama lack of total experience compared to Palin and he’s the one running for president, not Palin.
“The White House have been known to withhold certain pertinent information from Congress.”
Candy, please provide an example of this since it doesn’t make any sense when it comes to Congress voting.
Hey, Mike,
It’s me, Ann_C, not ann.
Easy, guy!
Everybody has to start from somewhere, Palin for Miss Alaska 24 years ago, Joe Biden on his long career as a politician at age 29 as one of the youngest senators ever elected from Delaware, McCain as a navy pilot captured in Vietnam as a young man, etc. Yet some people want to make hay out of a greenhorn’s experiences, when the candidate is considerably older and wiser.
Obama? no one seems to know his past all that well. Harvard, law, multiracial, and Democrat. Experience, what experience? His political philosophy, well, what is it, folks? You go figure. I dunno.
McConnell, lame or not, that is what many people are thinking.
I understand where you’re getting at, unfortunately people are not looking at it that way. That is why you’re seeing a lot of people comparing Palin with Obama. Should be comparing Obama with McCain and Palin with Biden but alas, it’s not to be.
And….
It’s all in the papers over the years…one example would be: There’s indication that certain information was withheld about weapons of mass destruction for example. We can go back and forth on all that, but I think that we all would be very naive to think that WH actually provides every information to Congress. They will use “national security” as an excuse for one. Comon…you really have that much faith in our Government?
Interesting, Candy, comparisions of future political scenarios. Are we already there yet? Palin and Obama are close in age, Biden and McCain as well. Ageism?
Executive privilege abuse for one.
I don’t think the link I did first time worked….
Ann_C,
That’s what it looks like. People forget that the average John Q Public thinks like that.
i didnt have to put words in anyone’s mouth..they were right there!!!
if this is the best the Reds have to offer(wink! wink!! wave ! wave!! and then run run into straight talk express and hide hide) America, then lets embark on this path of self-destruction!!!
dont understand why “obviously sarah palin is a reformer??” what is obvious about it..bridge to nowwhere indicates her flippety flopness, asking to ban books is reforming?creationism is reforming? global change is caused by man is reforming???charging women for rape kits in her city is reforming??get a grip, pal! dont fall for the skirt and thelegs!!!….so she is just one among the many currentpolitician types, ruthless, ambitious and unfortuantely blatantly”dumb!”.lets not tag her “reformer”..reserve those are meant for bigger people(MK Gandhi,ML King,Nelson Mandela)
im not sure whether people realize this ,its not easy to get into Harvard Law school when you dont have mentors or rich family wallets……there is something called merit.so lets not doubt the ability!!
However since the bar is so low for the Red Party ,it is only natural that she rocks!!!!
stop comparing Palin to Teddy Roosevelt and JFK…people she’s not that knowledgeable…and its not because she’s a women…DOESN’T THIS BOTHER YOU…my goodness…are some folks in America this dumb…your more bothered by someone who you heard doesn’t wear a flag pin on his shirt…
we are talking about one of the highest positions in this country…
this has got to be a bad dream for people to even be considering this women….I have no respect for the Republican Party at all anymore….
And the point of your comment, Donna White, is what?
I’m not bothered by Obama not wearing a flag pin on his lapel, I’m bothered by his lack of experience. Experience is knowledge.
I’m not bothered by Palin’s bee-hive ‘do’s or bridge-to-nowhere, I’m bothered by her brassiness… but hell, she’s been a public servant longer than Obama. Maybe that says somethin’. Empowerment, maybe? You’re a woman, you oughta know what that means.
LOL
I’ve heard that before, someone mentioning that one had a smaller flag lapel pin than the other, like it’s supposed to be a big deal. Right.
I don’t know, seems like everyone has their own critieria as to what would make a good president. For some it’s the SIZE of the flag lapel pin, for others it’s EYE-Candiness factor, and then for another it’s the Gender or Race factor…….
Right now, we’re screwed, is all I can say.
Why do women hate Palin?
What is it about her that just throws these women off the end?
I’m trying to figure it out..is it the “mean girl syndrome?”
Let’s ask yourself this: would you be a friend to her if you had the chance, had she been a neigbor of yours? And if you responded yes, then would you support her in her run for VP?
BWAHAHAHA!!!
Ain’t that a fact, we’re screwed big-time, allright!
Candy,
Well, how about “what is it that she got that I don’t got?”
for sure, shes got a bloated view of her capabilities ,a vacant mind and an ability to read off a script…
I dont like her, not because shes a woman, but because she is airhead!!period.
she does disservice to all those of us who try to make ourseleves heard & taken seriously in a man’s world,by blinking & winking and acting all girly…thats my issue!
That’s easy for you to say. It’s Palin putting herself out there for all the world to see, and that takes more guts than most of us would do, men included. That’s what she’s got that you ain’t got. She ain’t perfect, but neither are we.
“For some it’s the SIZE of the flag lapel pin, for others it’s EYE candiness factor, and then for another it’s the Gender or Race factor….”
What about Margaret Thatcher “Iron Lady” from England, Angela Merkel from Germany, Tarja Halonen from Finland, and more?
Here it is:
USA needs to work harder to reach the leadership style…..
WG,you hit the point right on the head! just because we havent seen any woman in such a high office, any woman gets a pass??? jeeezz…ridiculous..this country is sliding perilously towards mediocrity…
@ ann_c,i chose not to run because i know i havent got what it takes to be a good VP/Executive.simple.i acknowledge it.a little bit of reality check from the palin camp would do this great country goood
Here’s a captioned video clip, courtesy of me, called “I’m voting Democrat.”
Enjoy
great job,mc! this country is proud of ya!!!
owner of Verticalblu responded plus another employee left a positive message in my blog comment box. check it out.
And some people go calling Palin an airhead? *chuckling at the video*
I’m an independent, BTW.
Mac ..
Great video! Love the subtitles!
Lotsa good points in the video. Like, why are people blindly following Obama?
Speaking of which, I found something interesting in the paper this morning. Be back with a post later.
Paotie
LOL
Great Video. (seriously, I’m impressed that you’ve took the time to subtitle it)
However, you’re insinuating that all deaf people are not well informed (per your site.) Well, I’m sure there is a percentage of them that are not and they can’t help it. But the majority who are intelligent enough to read a paper or watch the news (even at 4th grade level) are well informed.
Mike you’re doing great getting the message across, but unfortunately the majority of deaf people do NOT read blogs. DR, DV or independently. I know this because I’ve ASKed around for amost a year and people are not interested or are too busy.
In order to make your efforts worthwhile, there should be an organization that raises awareness of technology, specifically the internet and how deaf people can make a difference!
Now, who made that video? And Im sure that person is McCain follower. No brainer.
Show me another video that says something about McCain, made by an Obama follower.
It’s skills, folks
Re:-Obama? no one seems to know his past all that well. Harvard, law, multiracial, and Democrat. Experience, what experience? His political philosophy, well, what is it, folks?
Elementary, folks..
He’s the real Maverick, minus the braggadocio..
He doesn’t wear the big “M” anywhere on his chest; he “m”otivates instead
It’s the ” I-want- to-be-conductor-because-you-are-the-band” philosophy.
And if you think this is too lofty, consider the following..
What is this mystery element that causes “the experienced”
to shake in their boots…
wave white flags
make hasty retreat ?
Luck, you think ?
I suspect it takes the following skills:
Tactics, strategy, discipline, leadership, willingness to be lead..
Let’s be honest, who started this surge in Campaign 2009,
this wave of positive excitement in people that had pretty much
given up on the system?
(If I hear “what do we know about his…, anymore, I think I’m going to..)
What do you know about any of these folks besides what’s in front of you?
Instead of digging into the DNA files, examine the evidence instead.
campaign skills….organized, disciplined….
Wall Street , you copy ? Main St., you copy
Exactly, people have had it with what’s happening and they want change. And, even I do find it a bit scary. Because, we’re stuck with what’s out there…. McCain or Obama. Who looks better?
Obama
Who looks hot?
Palin

Candy, the majority of the people who are reading my blog are NOT Deaf, much less deaf or hard of hearing. I am getting linked from many blogs and forums to my site.
As for technology, that’s coming along so there is no real worry. Just that everybody wants to hurry up and get there. It takes time and realization on the value of having captioned videos. Instead of asking them to do it, just do it like I did. And now I’ve managed to change a few minds at Verticalblu.com, the company that made that video spoof.
The video makes several salient points by using irony and sarcasm to make their points and why people vote for Barack Obama. For one, it’s certainly not based on executive, military or foreign policy experiences. That’s for sure.
You’ve got a point there Mike…
Just do it.
lol
Maybe you can give some of us pointers on how to do it and make it come up at the same time a person says something. I have taken a look at overstream, and it looks kind of time consuming and hard. I know…I need to try and just do it.
[...] Alabama (5-0) – I know everybody in the world thinks ‘Bama should be #1 after Sarah Palin’s terrible-on-paper performance at the 2008 Vice Presidential Debate. The Tide crushed Georgia last week – just like I predicted – but they had trouble against Kentucky [...]
[...] Denver – Good morning. Again, really. Hey?! Do you know another consequence of the federal banking/credit crunch? Do you know another consequence of last night’s debate between Sarah Palin and somebody else? [...]
