MTV 2008 Movie Awards: Censored Skit

Denver – Good afternoon, everybody! I just received an email from a reader of Paotie’s Green Couch that provided a link to an apparent censorship of a joke performed during the 2008 MTV Movie Awards Show. The link from MTV shows the unedited version of the skit, performed by James Franco and Seth Rogen, of the two actors pulling out a bag of “weed” before a national audience and smoking “joints” whilst on stage during their presentation.

Apparently, and according to Franco, MTV asked the actors to perform the marijuana-smoking skit on stage:

“MTV wrote it! … Then backstage there was this big commotion: ‘You guys can’t say that,”‘ Franco said. “It says right in the script: ‘Lights fake joint.”‘ – Seth Rogen

[Pineapple Express clip was taken down sometime after this article was published.]

Rogen and Franco star in the film, Pineapple Express , set to be released to the American public August 8, 2008.

Paotie’s PostScript: Originally, the MTV video was readily available; however, I cannot seem to get the censored clip, so I inserted the movie trailer for Pineapple Express , instead. Sorry – I’m still learning how to embed videos and stuffs.

:)
