Quick Announcement! QUICK!
Denver – Good morning, everybody! I have a quick announcement to make: I have switched my blog from Paotie.com to Paotie.tv because I got tired of typing .com! I would get finger-cramps by the time I got to “o” in Paotie.com (ouch!) (see??) – and something had to be done! I was exhausted! I was gentrified!
HaHa!
I’m just messin’ with all ya’ll. Can ya dig it, ya’know what I’m sayin’?
Anyway, there are some changes that need to be fixed but I am going to leave them alone for now. There are more changes coming to Paotie’s Green Couch and you’ll probably notice them as we go, but everything should be completed within a week.
In the meantime, I will also be introducing some components for Paotie’s Green Couch – but they will only be temporary – and if all ya’ll like something (or even not), please let me know. I was going to test a few things out during the wee hours of the morning, but my girlfriend wasn’t too keen on the idea of being woken up at 3:00 am with questions like, “Honey?! CHECK THIS OUT! LOOK! COOL, HUH?!”
So .. I figured to randomly introduce a few things to see how they work, look, function and even check the oil in my truck. And if you’re wondering why I’m making the changes now, well .. that’s a damn good question.
And it’s for me to know and for all ya’ll to find out.

Yup, I just checked CNN.com for new and saw there was a tornado touchdown in Colorado.
I did not know that there were tornados in Colorado (but come to think about it, east of Rocky Mts. is mostly plains… so I guess it is a breeding ground for awesome storms, huh?)
Denver isn’t the plains but next to it. I was actually suprised to hear a tornado struck. Its mile high!
well…it says near Denver, so….if its eastern CO, then yah possible.

In reality I’ve never seen a tornado in my life, although I used to want to (I’m a storm lover), but now that I know how dangerous it can be….I think I’m more content to watch it from afar. I just love storms of all kinds. When I was little…every time my dad tells me there is a tornado watch, I’d run fast to the second story of the house and peer through the window facing west, waiting for a tornado to appear. Crazy, I know.
Well, where I am we’ve been having back-to-back T-storms here. Woke up to a damn roof leak and hubby had to dash to Home Depot to get Henry’s black goo and climb up to the roof to do a quick patch. Got soaked in the downpour. Meantime I was mopping like crazy and getting pots, wastepaper baskets under the leaks.
Love the sound of rain but not drippy leaks.

Oh, yah, I slept thru a tornado when I was home on spring break from college once. I’d just wrapped up cramming for a couple of nights and taking exams, plus a red-eye flight to get home for the holiday, so I was really out like a light when I hit the sack.
The tornado ripped up the trees in the back yard and the roof of the next door neighbor’s house and continued to skip thru the neighborhood. In the morning I woke up to go down the block. About every other house had a roof torn off, weird, my parents’ house was untouched.

Wow! The only thing comparable for me is a time when I went on a camping trip with my Cubs Scout group. A windstorm had blown in during the night, ripping the tent to shreds and sent my buddies scurrying about like mice during an Ozzy Osbourne concert.
Of course, I didn’t know this until the next morning, when I woke up to a tent-less sky.
I saw a tornado in Albuquerque once, too. Weird.
I’m still working out the kinks for the feeds, so .. sorry!

Is it my eyeballs or did I see Der Sankt’s “Open Letter to Amy and Gally” disappear from DeafRead and his own blog? Wondering WTF? His letter article was dated May 20th.
Correction: May 21st. The title is in DR, but not the article.
Yeah, I just checked Der Sankt’s blog and you are correct… the open letter is not there.
We will probably hear from him the reason for it.

Just a dumb question maybe, as I don’t know that much about making blogs, but is it possible to ask WordPress staff what may have happened to the article? Maybe not enough cache space for comments?
You did change from a dark background with reverse type with the article originally when some commenters complained about the dark background of the comment block and not being able to read what they typed. You then changed back to your current blog setup– can that change have screwed the article up?
Dear Paoti (Ms, Mrs, SIr.Madam. whoever).
It has been drawn to my attention there has been some blatant copying of material from my blog without my express permissio ! The usual channels to observe are by default, usually accompanied by fistfulls of British banknotes (Sterling, not Dollars, because ours are worth more), or at least signed copies of Mickey Mouse, I can flog in Brit-Land for a few pounds more than a fistful of dollars. Is this not the way the Americans work too ?
My lawyer (As soon as he is sober and comes out of prison), will be using his best joined-up writing to contact yours (I am assuming yours can read), to express my extreme constur, consti, colliquibble… that I am anoyed my artistic ende, Undobble ! my work hjas become a subject of some derision…
I’m a serious artist (Of the Urinary variety usually), with a reputation to live down, I am admired, loved, but mostly hated in equal measure, in the U of K, and that has been my lifetime’s work, which you are seriously undermining, being nice is not what I am usually about !
I’m good, (and good at being naughty also), so cough up the readies. I’ll settle for $5 and a public admission MM has a few screws loose, and should replace Paddy LAdd as the Brit deaf Icon (And I give free pretzels)).

I find Americans curiously patriotic ! There was a blog on deaf.read about the San Diego woman who was scamming deaf people, nothing too special about that, except I had put it up days before, they ignored the Brit doing it, and went for the American version which duplicate mine exactly lol
I Often get mixed up with that other ‘MM’ too, I think she is an actress or something…. ( I don’t think my feminine side stretches that far

Patriotic! Yep. I just saw a bald eagle whose name is Liberty. How cool is that? Took a picture of him and will bring it to the new school.
Also saw the real two wolves. Darn. They are truly beautiful. Only the wildlife staff can handle and pet them. When she feed them from the balcony with the people, these two wolves made only their eyes contact to contact to her, not all of us. Impressive!

Hey, you heard about RR (Richard Roehm) being banned from DeafRead and DeafTV? Well, he has his own aggregator (hear for life) and a new youtube account, IronTeeth27. He is an interesting guy, not afraid to speak up what he believes in. But then I don’t know what the full story, soooo… *shrug*.
I find that being banned or even moderated (!), does get you no end of street cred usually
Without Paoti and others adding their very individualistic view, deaf.read and other deaf sites would just be notice boards, and pretty boring notice boards too ! It shows that deaf people can have a sense of humor, a naughty (But nice), streak, and still be deaf. The naughty ones make life interesting anyway

Yah, Karen, I read something about the rumor on RR’s blog being banned from DR. Most likely because he started his own blog aggregator. I’ve checked it out, it’s still a WIP, or work-in-progress.
Yowzer! Check out Candy’s blog on copyrights of links. Apparently RR got banned for what DR editors consider infringement on copyright to an image or video?

Speaking of RR, I am disturbed by the way people bash him. Yeah, he has strong opinions, but… the degree that the deaf people bash him does make him look like a victim. I am sure he has done his share of wrongs, but… I see most of us act like uncivilized children bullying him. And Taylor just sits and lets bashing happen. Of course, RR is wrong in some areas (like his attitude toward Barb Digi, which is not acceptable.)

I agree, Karen. I discovered that many people were making videos that were bashing, defaming, and a whole load of shit on RR with no real facts! Typical of deaf community to do that. And one wonders why RR did what he did after the fact. Truth is the people that made those videos should be real scared cuz RR can easily sue them. Tayler never explained the real reason why RR got banned. People need to learn to ignore the ones they don’t like. And what makes all this even more uglier is that we’re in the public eye….the world is watching. Stupid shit, if u ask me.
Yup. RR is not stupid… he is just strong-opinioned and has a right to his opinions just like everyone else. If we believe ourselves to be the mature adults, we should stop stooping to a low childish level to bash and defame him.

Again the editors are being rather arbitrary about censorship and banning of v/bloggers that don’t toe the D’hood line.
I guess that Tayler and editors get the pressures that affects the reality. It’s the heavy burden that they have faced nowadays.

Richard put some of the bashing on himself. Mike SZZ is now contemplating a lawsuit against Richard. Richard isn’t exactly open to dialogue himself…
He doesn’t deserve to be bashed, no. I agree totally on that one. However, he should also be aware of the consequences of his thoughts/words. I expect to be bombarded with attacks and hateful stuff when I write controversial stuff; but, I usually don’t let that carry over to my real life stuff.
DBC isn’t far from where he lives, so I’m not exactly sure how Richard is acting towards them in real life. So far, DBC has been mum about opposition. I’m sure RR isn’t the only one…

Censorship does happen on Deafread, most certainly. Deafread is not allowed to post any VRS services on the front page unless it’s DR’s sponsor: Sprint, which is understandable but contradicts their position of being “unbiased.”
Censorship is prevalent in America. The only time it’s truly allowed is when the masses demand for it. There are lists of banned books in libraries and they can tell you this isn’t done by the government but rather, the common folks. Huckleberry Finn is banned because “nigger” is in it.
(No, I’m not saying the “N” word because I’m very specific about which word. It’s not just any “n” word but “nigger” thank you very much.)
So if you look at it carefully, capitalism and the “free-world” relies on money. If money says something needs to be censored, it will be.
Maybe I should write a post about censorship in America and the Deaf community.

Sometimes, Ben, there’s a tipping point at which a person will go on a calculated vendetta to get back at those who’ve bullied him. This is when it gets personal and consumes a person’s thoughts day in and day out and becomes a part of his personal life. There’s no separation of professional and personal after reaching that point. I’ve encountered people like that and have learned to steer clear of ‘em.
Ha, ha! A forum…well, Paotie’s blog was weird enough, too weird for DR, by editors’ standards. We’re the pink people, as WG has pointed out many times. We do come up with the damndest comments at times in the comment section.
