Bill Richardson: The Guv Who Would Be a King

Denver – New Mexicans finally sighed a breath of relief today as reports began circulating that Governor Bill Richardson was stepping down from the 2008 Presidential election. The Guv, as he’s known, was never a realistic candidate for lots of reasons, but the primary cause of his demise was simply himself.

What the national media might not know is that the Guv ran New Mexico like a little, Americanized version of North Korea. You know why the Guv went to North Korea, don’t you? For those Pekingese dogs that they eat as a delicacy in that stupid little country on the Korean peninsula.

I am not kidding you!

But, New Mexicans knew what was really up. Shortly after the Guv first took office, he required all employees of the Guv’s Royal Court to submit resignation letters so that if they made a remark about his large ass, they would be resigned to hell. And then they’d have to resign from their job, too.

That’s not all, either – the Guv decided that the best way to convert the state’s vehicle fleet (or at least the Guv’s entourage) from gas-guzzling speed demons to “greener” vehicles was to race through downtown Albuquerque in excess of 100 mph in big, black SUVs. Of course this only happened when the Guv’s personal helicopter was too busy ferrying his wife from Santa Fe to Aspen because she is a fan of yukigassen (this is a sport found in Asia that consists mostly of Japanese people obsessing neurotically over the “perfect” snowball, which has a patent pending in the US Patent Office).

As it turns out, the Guv suffered from a bad case of the runs that fateful night in Albuquerque. Too bad COPS wasn’t there to film the entire episode which looked like this:

Albuquerque Police Department (APD) Dispatch: We have a group of expensive SUVs racing through Albuquerque at 112 MPH. Please advise.

APD Helicopter: We are circling now and looking for the lead car. Oh – wait! I see it now!

APD Dispatch: Great. Please shoot the first vehicle off the road.

APD Helicopter: I would but the first SUV has a giant relleno inside and I love rellenoes!

APD Helicopter: Wait! It’s the State police! They are firing a bazooka at us! MAYDAY! MAYDAY!

And as the story goes, a large chile relleno shot down a helicopter and then the Guv was able to tell his loyal and royal subjects that, “It was all a misunderstanding,” because he had the runs that night.

Seriously!

Mostly, though, the thing about the Guv that always irked me was the fact that he was simply rude. Even though I’m deaf, I used to go to concerts all the time – mostly to get drunk on virgin margaritas and scope out hot chicks – and I’d see the Guv arrive fashionably late to a chorus of boos cascading from the cheap seats.

Don’t ask how I know. I just know because I’m deaf and deaf people just know these things, okay?

One other reason why I’m happy the Guv ain’t runnin’ no’mo’ is because he’s a bloated and blabbering idiot on national television. Sweating and unable to give good answers to questions, he failed to produce the image of a powerful Hispanic public leader – mostly because he kept saying, “When I was in North Korea, I met this Pekingese dog that was really sexy,” during the national debates.

I don’t know. But, I will tell you something else – I ran across this article, “I Got What America Needs Right Here,” by Jimmy Carter. For once, we get the real scoop on the state of American presidential elections. Besides, all peanut farmers do the same thing, too – they drink peanut butter for breakfast every day, and you won’t be disappointed by Mr. Carter’s assessment.

Trust me – I promise you’ll be surprised. In a good way, too.

Meanwhile, let us all sigh collectively in relief that the next US president won’t be a Hispanic version of one George Wuss Bush. For that, I am grateful that New Mexico is saved the indignity of Bill Richardson, the Guv who would be a king of the United States of America.

But, I hear the North Koreans are looking for a new ambassador …

Be good .. or be good at it.

Good for NM. I got off the politic bandwagon years ago, couldn’t stomach the politicians any longer. But, these firefighers…whooo what I would give to wash the dirt off their bods~ ;)

C

Thank God there is God. Richardson sucks. He better off being Kim Jong Il’s towel boy from New Mexico. If he became President, although no sane American would ever vote him in, he might likely hand all of the American southwest back to Mexico.

Well, there was lots of talk about a certain fireman, “beefcakes,” and ummm .. I forgot what else.

So, blame it on McConnell for the picture!

McCONNELL!!

Rob ..

YUP!

Richardson made a horrible governor and would’ve caused WWIII just because of the way he sweats under the lights.

He usurps New Mexicans’ oxygen, you know?

Yah, cute, trying to finger McConnell cuz he’s a firefighter. That pic out of Firefighters Calendar?

At least those guys look a helluva lot better than the Guv, with those six-packs…um-hmm.

Ann_C

Yo Mike, you in pix? Huh no? No Van Dyke beard, I see… oh well. ;o)

I am not up for another Republican president. I don’t mind Clinton… I’d steer away from Obaha because I had never heard of him until he announced his interest in US Presidency. Clinton has what I think we are seeking for… experience (she lived in White House for 8 years, so she knows) and common sense (of course most women have common sense… men? *Cough, cough.* Hey, just kidding…)

Experience and common sense is all I am asking for in any US presidents.

Karen Mayes

I’d like to get away from Presidents named, “Clinton” or “Bush.”

Enough’s enough. I do like Obama, though.

The King of the Forest.

Oh, that’s you, McConnell. What a honor.

Put him into the 2008 Calendar!

Richardson….I dunno ’bout him….all I know he was the Mr. Los Lamos Laboratory, the L3. The energy guy wasted our electric bills.

Well, you can see all of me (clothed, that is) here:
http://deafstrongman.blogspot.com

tsk… tsk.. tsk!

You *had* to put a picture of these 3 hotties firefighters only to attach readers like me to here.

Well.. it worked! *grins*

Eh, I don’t care much for Richardson. I wonder who is he going to endorses? hmm….

Well not that it matters cuz he have a few votes but still…

-SG

Damn this glass of wine I am having cuz of typo! I meant to say your picture of firefighters caught my eyes (not attach).

Excuse me, I need to get some more wine….

-SG

Drinking? Probably explains why “seek geo” said “hotties” in the first place.

Ann C, I look better than the studly firefighters. I have the body of Chris Farley.

*Imagine me as the Chippendale dancer*

Rob

LOL, Geo, if you ain’t a tad tiddly– but I don’t blame you after what was a bummer phone interview for a job. Some hearing people can be real jerks.

Yeah, Mike, I saw your Strongman blog and know that you can bench-press 335 lb. That’s one dedicated firefighter. Those tires in your backyard? Man, if so, no wonder the wife can’t plant a garden…;)

Rob, Chippendale dancer, my foot.

Ann_C

That would be 355lbs.
:)

Oh, we do have a vegetable garden. Or did. We now have mostly fruits (grapes, thornless blackberry, peach and nectarine) to work with.

SeekGeo, if I had that kind of phone interview, it wouldn’t be a glass of wine that I’d need. More like a bottle. And more than just one picture from Paotie’s…um…er…”art” collection, too.

So, Paotie, how do you really feel about New Mexico’s governor?

JS

*laughs*

JS ..

Ahhh .. well, now that’s an interesting question.

Richardson is a bit of a Clintonite and is really just a leftover from President Clinton’s era. I think was best as the UN ambassador, but other than that – his time at the DOE was a joke, and his time as governor is a mixed bag.

I’m proud he ran. I’m glad he’s out.

I also think he used the governorship as his launching pad to higher office and built his political platforms with an eye on the bigger prize nationally. But, I don’t follow what he does in New Mexico anymore, so I can’t say he’s improved since I moved.

What do you think of the Guv?
:)

Paotie

Paotie

Ah! This is MORE LIKE IT!! :-) These guys are HOT.

Paotie– I like Obama too. There are a couple things I don’t like, but his stand on most issues.

kim
Ann_C

Ohhhh keep the women get exciting. Whoo… I like Obama too. I like Thompson but he will be out of picture anyway. Paotie, keep up to excite us the photos. LOL..

Ahhh… that explains your dislike of Clintin.

Heck, I admit to being ignorant about politics so I’d not comment much here.

Ciao!

Karen Mayes

I am not sure about Obama. Think twice! I don’t trust him!

http://www.truthorfiction.com/rumors/o/obama-salute.htm

Peachlady

I dont have anything to say about the Guv’ but thank you so much for the HOT firefighters. I was getting tired of all the sexy bimbo’s (oops) I mean women pictures. Add a few hot guys here and there, dont be sexist! hehehehe

*laughs*

The women spoke and received.

Okay .. okay. I will split the pictures more evenly, okay?

Demanding readers!

And I’m glad you liked the firemen – got to thank McConnell for the inspiration, what with him being a studly stud and all.

Anyone want an Irish Car Bomb!?! It’s FRIDAY!
:)

Paotie

Paotie

Me!! Me!! Me… Karen, can I go?? I’ll just spend 1000 bucks to fly out there for a couple hours and head back home. Karen, you ok with that??

*laughs*

Have one on me! Half a hour and I’m outta here!!

Brian L. Mayes

What do you think of Kucinich?

Kucinich?

Ahhh .. I admire his political career. I admire his wife’s background, too. I think by and large, Kucinich danced to his own beat, which I like.

I always wondered how Americans would feel in having a British national as the First Lady, too. Makes no difference to me, but I like Elizabeth’s background. I think she’d be pretty damn good as a First Lady.

But, looks like he’ll be dropping out, too.

I still haven’t decided whom I support, but right now – today – if the election was held, I’d probably vote for Obama. I like his charisma, and I like the way he carries himself and I think he would represent the US quite well with his sense of class that he seems to ooze.

I’m tired of a Clinton or Bush or even Clinton’s Bush in the White House, man.

Enough’s enough!

But I haven’t yet decided which GOPs I like, either. I like Thompson because he’s a stud (and his wife is ssssssexy), but … I dunno, yet.

I’m sure McConnell could explain the GOPs better than I could, mostly because I’m an independent and I don’t buy into party-line politics. I vote whomever I think is best – regardless of party.

So, we’ll find out – we’ve got lots of time.

What do you think of Kucinich?
:)

In a somewhat belated response to the question above about my opinion of Richardson, I thought he had an interesting side career as a diplomat. I don’t know much about his governorship, though. In fact, it seems that his diplomatic endeavors brought him greater national recognition than his work in New Mexico, which, as all Americans know, is another country. Unless they’ve seen the license plate with “USA” appended to the state’s name.

It’s too upsetting to follow elections closely…it’s kind of like watching your favorite sports team have a meltdown, because everything that can go wrong, will. Except, in this case, it’s watching your country screw around with political horsetrading, backstabbing, gaffes, etc.
