Friday’s Fonetic Fun
Colorado Springs – Today’s Friday and it means one thing: almost done for the week! I figured since I started Monday Morning Weirdness to help jump-start your week, I decided to leave you with some quotes reflecting this past week to marinate in your brain. Now you can add good quotes and sound bites to accompany the useless facts I gave you on Monday to make yourself look like a smart cookie around the office cooler. Or at home. Or at church. Or wherever and whenever it fancies you.
- Washing one’s hands of the conflict between the powerful and the powerless means to side with the powerful, not to be neutral -Paulo Freire, educator (1921-1997)
- I was never an older-man-dater-kind-of-girl before – Jeri Thompson on being the wife of G.O.P. presidential candidate Fred Thompson, and the “trophy wife” label critics have tagged her with for being 24 years younger than her husband
- Everyone is a prisoner of his own experiences. No one can eliminate prejudices – just recognize them – former journalism great, Edward R. Murrow said during a television broadcast in 1955
- Few people think more than two or three times a year. I have made an international reputation by thinking once or twice a week – George Bernard Shaw
- The focus of tolerance education is to deal with the concept of equality and fairness. We need to establish confidence with children that there is more goodness than horror in this world – Morris Dees
Finally, I leave you with a quote from Socrates to marinate in your brain over the weekend. I hope you had a fantastic week and that you have a fun and safe weekend. For those who (you know who you) are hiking in the Zion country in Utah this weekend – have fun!
Be good .. or be good at it.

I am liking it!
*eats another cookie*
Thank you! I’m glad you like it. I think I’ll not do the URL links so heavily in the quotes. I admit at first, I thought it was cool; but after a few times of looking at it, I don’t like it. So, I’ll leave this one the way it is and next week, will try to make it more aesthetically pleasing to the eye.
*sips some milk from a small glass*
Boy .. I love Fridays!

You sharing those milk and cookies? I enjoyed the links, I even visited some of the sites, but then again, I enjoy quotes!
Cool beans!
Okay .. but only one cookie!
Maybe!
*winks*
And the milk is fine, but I ONLY drink homogenized milk – none of that fancy schmancy “low fat” or “2%” water/milk (ughhhh).
*sips some more milk*
I drink too much milk, I think, anyway. Oh well. Milk does a body good – especially organic milk.
Fridays are a good time to get margaritas in New Mexico, too. (Ok, ok .. I once ate cookies, drank milk and then drank margaritas in succession. I don’t mind, but one of my friends couldn’t hold the thought very well once he got half-way through his margarita.)
*shrugs innocently and shoots a spitball across the room onto the kitchen window pane*

cookies, milk and Margaritas??? That is an interesting combination! *gags* I have yet to taste a Margarita! One day soon…..
Really!?!
Well .. I guess margaritas are part of the culture in New Mexico, so please forgive my surprise at that. You MUST! MUST! And soon, too!
MUST! MUST! MUST!
MUST!
